As a leader in this company, my goal is to ensure each 3Mer sees and feels the positive impact were making around the world Mike Roman, chief executive officer and chairman, 3MPosition Summary:This Database Admin position is part of the TCOE group that handles 3M tickets during off America shifts and performs project work alongside the US Team under the direct supervision of the TCOE supervisor and general leadership of the Global DB manager. They will participate in the daily management and administration of DB2 databases. Key responsibilities include responding to incidents and changes, monitoring DB2 activities and troubleshooting accordingly, and escalating critical issues to appropriate teams. This role requires technical and communication skills as well as a level of comfort working with diverse teams.Job Description & Responsibilities:Accept and process incidents that are assigned to DB2 LUW support team within the SLAEscalate Incidents to appropriate teams.Monitor daily backups for DB2Provide support during storage addition and migrationsMaintain archive logs and cleanup as per policy.Basic performance tuning.Diagnoses application or database contention issuesRun application snapshot when needed by SAP for diagnosesManage HADR and TSA issuesIdle session monitoringHADR takeoversRestart database and InstancesWork with Basis team to verify connectivityStart / Stop / Move Virtual IP addressStart / Stop TSA domainTurn off or On Monitoring for Specific databasesRecovery and support in DR testCreating Table spaces for Lower environment server if application team is not able to perform during their upgrade process.Raising request to add space in data file system.Deleting trigger for Lower environment server if application team is not able to perform during their upgrade process.Experience Required:Required 5 8 years of experience supporting DB2 on RHEL including stand-along and HADR configurations.Demonstrated ability to grasp and communicate complex system integrationsDemonstrated ability to work on projects in a technical environment.Seasoned technology person for DB2.Kind of tech lead in the team.Point of contact for any escalations.Familiarity with Linux (some exp) preference is most recent experience.Experience Desired:Experience working in a large environment or on customer-facing applicationsExperience working in an Agile environmentExperience working with ERP systems, SAP preferredExperience with Cloud, AWS preferredExperience in ODBC connectionsEducation and Training Required:Bachelors Degree in information systems or equivalent experiencePrimary Skills:Strong analytical skillsData analysis and interpretationDocumentation and process flowsGood oral/written communication skillsTime managementAdditional Skills:3rd party backup utilities, i.e., CommvaultETL or other data extraction / manipulation
