Dear Candidate,ZF Group is hiring Mechanical Design Engineer Professional for Commercial Vehicles and Control Systems (CVCS).Job Location: Chennai.Qualifications: B.E/ B.Tech (Mechanical)Experience: 3+ yearsRelevant Experience: min 3+years as Casting part design.Skills: Creo, Automotive, Mechanical design, GD&TResponsibilities:Support lead engineer in assessing customer & legal requirements, in identification of gapsand in translation into technical requirements.Plan mechanical design tasks and support lead engineer in calculating development cost andtiming.Develop product concepts according to technical requirements and field experienceEvaluate different concepts (own, competitors, suppliers) to find best cost option using DFA &6sigma methods.Consider design rules & standards, foster standardizationIncorporate technical calculations and simulations as well as test results in the designDefine materials and production processes for new components in alignment with expertsInitiate and follow-up patent analysis' and identify ideas for own patents.Create prototype documentation & plan prototypesPerform & maintain Design FMEA, risk assessment, define SC, CCInstruct supporting personnel (e.g. draftsman)Create and change series documentation, maintain serial devices with respect to costMaintain product with respect to quality and field claimsPropose design changes to reduce costCreate and change series documentation, (drawings, Test Instruction, DFMEA etc)Support evaluation of product and tooling cost, follow up cost targetsInterface and communicate with S&P and suppliers, M&L and other functions to ensuresimultaneous engineering for process and supplier developmentPrepare and participate in design reviews, share experience and knowledgePropose redesign ideas for cost reduction.
