Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview: The Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure that the company meets its financial obligations to vendors in a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Ensures that payments are made legally, accurately and within company guidelines, ensuring least cost competitive pricing. Oversees compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory agencies.Position responsibilities:Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoicesInteract with vendors and various departments for information, training, and problem resolutionReceive and review purchase orders, check requests, and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirementsMonitor daily reports related to AP and handling of open itemsExercise sound judgment regarding situations that may need supervisor/management involvement Perform other special projects or duties when requiredEssential skills and experience required:Superior written and spoken English communication skillsGreat attention to detail, a strong work ethic, a proactive approach to problem solving, a sense of urgency, and interpersonal skills that encourage teamwork, trust and openness among the employees with whom the position interfacesBachelor's degree (or its equivalent)Strong computer skills and the desire to learn moreWilling to learn new things and be open to challengesValued but not required skills and experience:Experience with any Accounting platform preferred.1-2 years of work experience in an accounting department in a computer-oriented environment.
