The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services. Who you will work withThe global PPK group is a key function, which helps to identify, create, and leverage "best of Bain" content, expertise, and also helps Bain practice areas develop commercial strategies. The Reporting & Analytics Sr. Manager (GCO) position is based at Bain's Gurgaon BCN office and is an integral part of the Reporting & Analytics CoE. The team-let is responsible to support Global Commercial Operations (GCO) team with its mission to take firm's commercial operations capabilities to the next level, with the ambition of raising partner productivity and transforming how Bain creates and captures demand for its products and sells impactful, scale engagements at its most important clients. The Senior Manager will play a critical role in improving the commercial effectiveness of Bain's partners through insightful and actionable analyses; respected recommendations which enhance management decision-making; and development of specific programs to enhance partner commercial skills and capabilities. This is a highly visible role within Bain and will involve close collaboration with the senior leadership across functional, practice and other strategic groups within Bain.The successful candidate will have a process excellence mindset and approach, experience in quantitative research/analytics and in operationalizing analytics delivery teams. About youEducation Required: First class undergraduate/post graduate from leading and reputed collegesPreferred: Concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, Business Analytics, Finance or Accounting is strongly preferredExperienceRequired: 13-15 years (graduates) or 11-13 years (post-graduates) of relevant experience working with large, multi-dimensional data sets and developing different types of visualizationsExperience managing a team of at least 4-5 people in an analytics-based service delivery domainExperience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequired:Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytic abilitiesHigh-level of proficiency and hands-on experience across a portfolio of tools and technologies (such as but not limited to): Advanced Excel, R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, etc. Ability to work independently across multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to lead by example, willingness to get into detail as required while also balancing delegation effectivelyCapability in planning and implementing processes for creating and supporting complex reporting dashboards, with proven track record of strong process excellence skillsDemonstrated success influencing senior level stakeholders on strategic direction based on recommendations backed by in-depth analysis, strong written and verbal communicationStrong leadership skills and ability to assume leadership role with cross-functional peers Preferred:Experience with using an enterprise data store as the data source or live connection for reports and visuals leveraging R, Python, TableauExperience with other BI Tools and demonstrate capacity to understand and/or adopt/learn new toolsDriven by intellectual curiosity with the aptitude and appetite to learn new programs/processes quickly What you'll doLead the day-to-day engagement with GCO leadership and own the operations (team, processes, capabilities) Identify issues/opportunities, design related analytics and programs to address, and then lead/execute against the resulting programs Partner with other business functions to identify, scope and run complex analytics to ensure commercial programs are achieving their strategic aims Explicitly connect analyses to actions and commercial improvements (e.g., improvements in rate cards; strategic pricing; Cost-to-revenue reporting; pricing training; recommendation on priority client list) Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders (e.g., Global FP&A lead, Regional CFOs, Global and Regional Industry Practice Leaders, Pricing/Negotiation Leads Lead ongoing/recurring client-related analytics, including insights and recommendations, as well as tackling ad hoc requestsIdentify and escalate barriers, risks/other dependencies well in time; actively engages with all stakeholders to overcome them within reasonable timelines Ensure alignment to industry and Bain-specific people and process best practices including Agile processes to deliver high-quality delivery and operations; define and implement metrics to measure and ensure on-going product performance and quality Ensure compliance with data security and professional standards Day-to-day management and professional development: Exert strong positive influence over professional development of Managers, Snr/Specialists and AssociatesProvide day-to-day mentoring on work-planning and other specialized tools & skill-sets (as relevant for team) to team members; coaches effectively, which is visible in the performance of team members Constructively engage in mutual feedback process with supervisor, stakeholders and direct reportee; provides concrete, regular and actionable feedback Lead with maturity and inspiration; perceived as a fair and unbiased role model; motivate team members in the group through leadership by example Stakeholder management: Drive recommendations to senior Commercial Ops and FP&A Leadership Provide thought leadership/guidance on necessary improvements to data tracking and analysis, deliverables and activities as well as sequencing of implementation Act as an advisor/expert to various groups and firmwide efforts on reporting standards and methodology Work in collaboration with other related or "customer" BUs, e.g. FP&A on pricing/revenue management responsibilities, Industry practice support teams, New Service Line Teams PRB
