Hardware Design Engineer (I&S)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :As part of the R&D team, should be able to perform the following duties as assigned by Manager/Leads to support the team's goals but not limited to the following:o Understanding the hardware design & requirements of the system/producto Perform root causing of production and field issues/failureso Understand the technical issues and drive the root cause analysis.o Collaborate with engineering and production to provide solutions.o Work on closures in line with commitmentso Implement mitigations for components obsolescence/supply chain issues:o Provide timely solutions to prevent production stop situationso Identify alternate components based on design requirements & component specification/datasheet comparisonso Perform evaluation & testing as needed for alternate qualificationso Perform necessary hands-on testing at circuit level / module level / product level to evaluate the hardware performance for identified HW design changes.o Work on circuit simulations, schematics entry, BOM management and PCB layout reviews as needed.o Support in design change implementations through Engineering Change Orders (ECO)o Support in product safety & compliance testing and country registrations for products in production.o Work efficiently with cross functional and production teams to deliver the assigned task/project with quality within the timelines.o Production testing - understanding current production test methods and support for development of new fixtures / tools needed for identified improvementso Do design and test documentation for the developed design.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :QUALIFICATION:o BE/Btech/ME/Mtech in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical engineering or equivalento 3 to 6 Years of experience in working with Hardware designs.TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:o Familiar with the concepts of Microcontrollers / Microprocessors operation and the hardware requirements for designing circuits using them.o Understanding of power management systems - DCDC (Buck/Boost) and LDOso Knowledge of hardware design for communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, RS232, USBo Proficient in component selection for circuit designo Experience in using common lab equipment like DMMs, Oscilloscopes, power supplies, Signal generatorso Understanding of production process of PCB assembly & production testingo Familiar with CAD tools like Altium or equivalent for circuit and PCB designBEHAVIORAL COMPETENCY:o Good analytical skillso Passion for success and being proactiveo Systemic and going in-depth approacho Be flexible, hands-on and willing to learn new technologieso Be a good team player, with good collaboration skills.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCEo Circuit simulation experience (LT spice or equivalent)o Familiar or exposure in EMI/EMC testingo LabVIEW knowledge is an advantage PRB
