Lead Engineer - Meta Data Management [T500-11640]

Job Description:Summary:As a Lead Metadata Engineer, you will play a crucial role in standing up the Enterprise Metadata management platform in our organization. You will bring in your technical knowledge of Data Catalog tools, their features and combine them with your functional knowledge of Data Governance Use cases that are sought after by business to establish a robust Metadata Management platform that's useful, effective, and easy to use. You will be responsible for establishing metadata standards, designing metadata architecture, and work with Data Analysts across the larger Data team. You will also be championing the usage of the platform across various personas like Data Scientists, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data and Production Support Engineers.Job Description:RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with stakeholders to identify metadata requirements and facilitate their integration into business processesDesign and implement metadata architectures that align with the organization's data management goalsInstall , configure, and operationalize the Data Catalog tool by working with the Product Vendor as well as the internal engineering teamsAdministration of the DG / Data Catalog tool / platformDevelop Enterprise Business glossary and data dictionaries across domains; Implement governance processes in the tool by collaborating with business partners and ensuring that the Business Glossary stays updatedSetup metadata scanners to pull technical metadata in an automated way from various data sources; Have ability to customize metadata attributes / configurations as supported by the tool; Explore opportunities to utilize auto-tagging capabilities that the tool may offerDevelop solutions to create technical and business lineage maps by working with Data Analysts and Business AnalystsSupport integrations with Enterprise applications like ServiceNow and other Data Management tools (MDM, Data Privacy)Work with product support team for version upgrades, managing feature requests, bug resolutionCoach a team of Data Analysts and Data Stewards on how to harvest and curate metadata within the Data Catalog; Conduct workshops for various cross functional teams to socialize the Data CatalogWork with the Data Governance team to create training artifacts and instructional materials for usersEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:4-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field8 years of total IT experience5-6 years of Metadata Management Experience while working in a major Data Catalog toolExperience in DQ tools would be a plusREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:Strong understanding of metadata management concepts and Use Cases, data management best practices, and industry relevant conceptsFamiliarity with data integration, data modeling, and data warehousing conceptsProficiency in metadata management tools and platforms; Attention to detailEffective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersAbility in lineage stitching, linking business terms and technical attributesStrong concepts in metadata enrichment within Data dictionary; Experience in standing up Business GlossaryCreating documentation to help adoption efforts for the Data Catalog / DG toolProficiency in writing and parsing SQL, extract business logic out of SQL and other pseudo codeExperience with related Data Management and Governance concepts (MDM, RDM, DQ)About Inspire Brands:Inspire Brands is a multi-brand restaurant company whose current portfolio includes nearly 32,000 Arby's, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin', Jimmy John's, and SONICDrive-In locations worldwide.
