We work to build an inclusive environment in which everyone can do their best work.Job Description :- As the Department Head of Drive Away Chassis (DAC), in the Design department is responsible to work with our engineering teams and component suppliers to lead the Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres design, development, validation, and production launch. This role requires outstanding skills in leadership, analysis, critical thinking, conflict management, and risk management.Duties and Responsibilities :-1. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.2. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with other departments to align testing plans with project timelines and objectives.3. Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements for all Drive Away Chassis components and systems produced by the department.4. Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers for Drive Away Chassis components and establish strong partnerships to ensure reliable and timely deliveries.5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other department heads, such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to align strategies and ensure smooth interdepartmental coordination.6. Product Development and Innovation: Work closely with design and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and the development of cutting-edge Drive Away Chassis solutions.7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior management on departmental performance, progress, and areas for improvement.8. Operations Management: Oversee the adherence of timely/target of the Drive Away Chassis department, ensure efficient processes, and timely delivery of chassis components and systems9. Budget and Resource Management: Prepare and manage budgets for the Drive Away Chassis department, optimizing resource allocation to meet design deliverable while maintaining cost target.10. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to Drive Away Chassis production, implement risk mitigation strategies, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1.Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.2.Proven experience (minimum 15-20 years) in automotive engineering, with a focus on Suspension, steering, brakes Wheels & Tyres.3.Strong knowledge of chassis systems, design calculations, K&C, materials, and manufacturing processes.4.Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing cross functional teams and driving results.5.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex challenges.6.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.7.Strategic mindset with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.8.Ability to work in a fast-paced & deadline-driven environment.9.Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance in the automotive industry.10.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIAV5, 3DEXperince, Siemens NX, SolidWorks) and other relevant design tools.
