The ideal applicant will have at least one year of post-graduate training in fellowship. It is expected that the applicant will have a strong interest in General community Plastic Surgery, including trauma, breast, skin cancer management. They will be joining our current 1.0 FTE plastic surgeon at Langley Memorial Hospital.Langley Memorial Hospital (LMH) is part of the Fraser Health Authority, BC's largest and fastest growing health authority. To accommodate the growing population of its community, renovation and expansion of the hospital are underway. Plastic surgery resources including access to elective OR time and ambulatory care/cast clinics will be made available. There are also opportunities to perform MSP cases in private facilities.The group is affiliated with the University of British Columbia with teaching opportunities for medical students and residents, though LMH is not a primary residency training site. Multiple private clinics also offer resources in the area.General plastic surgery call is currently 1 in 5, and a MOCAP agreement provides an on-call stipend. Call is shared with the Fraser East call group, covering a level 1 trauma centre, and other hospitals in the Fraser East region.Langley is located in one of the fastest growing regions in Canada. It is located a half-hour from Vancouver and in the natural beauty of the Fraser Valley. It is an ideal location to raise a family with a seemingly unlimited number of recreational activities, fine restaurants, and top schools. With its proximity to Vancouver, the mountains, oceans and lakes, and BC's Interior, this area is a great place to live.Please attach letters of interest, a copy of your CV, cover letter and three letters of reference.
