IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITYInterim Chief Information OfficerReports: Senior Vice President, Corporate Services Duration: 6 monthsLocation: Virtual, on-site presence as neededOur client, a reputable Canadian academic institution, is looking for a seasoned CIO to help them modernize their IT organization and improve its value and impact for staff and the student population. The interim would be leading the digital transformation, playing a pivotal role in driving the organization's strategic evolution into a digitally agile and competitive higher education institution. In support of digital transformation, the interim leads and partners in the assessment, recommendation and implementation of administrative and academic technology, information systems and services. The CIO must have a robust knowledge of best practices, contemporary and innovative IT approaches alongside a proven track record of successful experience in designing, modernizing, and transforming IT services in complex organizations. This assignment combines strategic thinking with operational execution.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:Works with the EVP to create the 5-year IT strategy which aligns with the future needs of the organization and its diverse stakeholder groups.Create and begin to implement cloud strategies to improve the operational effectiveness of the IT function.Defines strategic roadmaps and initiatives to drive digital transformation across all business functions.Assess IT functions, including infrastructure, applications, systems, processes, and people providing key insights and recommendations to the ELT.Provide key insights on the IT organizations structure to the EVP.Assesses new and emerging technologies for impact, opportunities, and risks to the organization.Consults and advises on information technology requirements with key stakeholders.Advises on broader organizational skill gaps, training requirements, and restructure strategies to address organizational needs.Responsible for creating and sustaining successful IT Governance structures that support both academic and administrative functions.Develops strategies for ongoing upgrades and renewal of information technology and unified communications infrastructure.Identifies new sources of revenue/funding, including maximizing vendor and partner contributions to the organization.Encourages the continuous development of a responsive, innovative and customer-focused Information Technology Services department to deliver optimal technology solutions, training and support to vested parties. Facilitates strong communication between the ITS areas and all functional groups to ensure that technology is implemented and utilized effectively, and that expectations for service delivery are clear and achievable.Collaborates with the Chief Information Security Officer to prioritize and implement an Information Security Program.Oversees the Privacy Office and Chief Information Security Officer functions including the devlopment and implementation of guidelines and procedures to ensure information privacy and security of the client's systems and data. Education and Experience:Master Level, University Education in a relevant field, is preferred, but any other combination of University Degree(s) plus the relevant experience for a CIO role would be considered.Deep experience leading digital transformation as a CIO.Exceptional coach and leader.Highly developed planning, problem-solving, human resource management, financial management, and partnership development skills.Strong technical and business acumen.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards service excellence.Agility to work in a fast-paced environment with a high rate-of-change.PLEASE SEND YOUR CV TO: Interim.Applications@LHHknightsbridge.com (SubjecT: Job Title)LHH Knightsbridge Interim Management is a service to help our clients address a wide range of scenarios including leadership support due to sudden departures, driving key change initiatives or leading transformation projects.
