Senior Policy Analyst, FisheriesDepartment of MarineNunavut Tunngavik IncorporatedLocated in Iqaluit, NUReporting to the Director, the Senior Policy Analyst - Fisheries, oversees the coordination of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc (NTI)'s interests in all areas pertaining to fisheries, including but not limited to research, policy, funding, planning and advocacy. This position will coordinate implementation of responsibilities related to the management of the fisheries industry in Nunavut under the Nunavut Agreement. Responsible for NTI's fisheries and marine portfolio, the Senior Policy Analyst - Fisheries position entails being intimately aware of the sector, initiatives taken by NTI and Inuit organizations towards developing the sector, and how these measures fit in the current discourses on economic development, fisheries, food security and sovereignty in Nunavut, Inuit Nunangat, Canada, and Canada's Arctic.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts or science degree or college diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of five years experience in program management, project management, good knowledge of initiatives, programs, policies related to fisheries in Nunavut and offered by territorial, and federal governments, and other stakeholders and rightsholders. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, be able to communicate effectively, and have a strong awareness and understanding of Nunavut Wildlife Management Board and Nunavut Fisheries and Marine Training Consortium.
