University of Kentucky College of MedicineLexington, KY - United StatesLexington, Kentucky - The University of Kentucky (UK) College of Medicine invites nominations, inquiries, and applications for the position of Chair to lead the Department of Radiology. This is an outstanding opportunity to expand radiologic services as part of a rapidly growing health system and to substantially build upon a strong teaching and research foundation.The College of Medicine is one of six health-related colleges at the University (Dentistry, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health), encompassing a combined 25 basic science and clinical departments and more than 1,300 faculty members.The Department of Radiology utilizes state-of-the-art imaging technology and has a strong presence at UK HealthCare (UKHC) and it continues to grow regionally and nationally, as the institution grows as a whole. The department is comprised of over 70 faculty, six advanced practice providers (APPs), and 12 administrative staff members. In addition, the department collaborates closely with over 500 technologist staff members employed by UKHC who work jointly to support the mission.Reporting to the Dean of the UK College of Medicine, the Chair has responsibility of ensuring excellent patient care while training future leaders in radiology. They will shape future growth and recruitment to accomplish department goals. The next Chair will be a nationally prominent, visionary leader and role model with an established record of excellence in clinical care and education, research, and mentorship in radiology. Exceptional accomplishments as a clinician and academician are a must as the Chair's duties will include a clinical practice as well as ongoing academic activities.Applicants must have a M.D., D.O, M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree, be American Board certified in radiology, and be eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky. In addition, applicants must possess outstanding leadership skills and administrative experience obtained in a medical school or an academic medical center setting, preferably as a department Chair, Division Chief, or Program Director, and possess a solid track record of commitment to clinical care, education, and research.The College of Medicine seeks qualified applicants who value its mission and share its commitment to creating an environment in which diversity is valued, inclusion is imperative, and belonging is foundational.
