Leveraging your deep understanding of employee benefits, you make recommendations and present solutions to both clients and internal stakeholders. Your role extends to people management, where you coach and mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and development.Key to your responsibilities is ensuring the delivery work that meets legislative requirements and client expectations. This involves planning and managing deliverables, overseeing valuations, renewals, and RFPs, as well as peer reviewing work and leading client presentations. Your expertise extends beyond technical skills; you excel in client relationship management, problem-solving, and effective communication.You'll play a crucial role in business growth by building and maintaining client relationships, staying informed about our products and services, and contributing to internal development projects. Your ability to provide guidance, manage projects, and address client needs makes you an invaluable asset to our team.A day in the life:Help to grow and build business with current and prospective clientsMaintains service and revenue accountability for medium to large sized clientsAs a lead member of client teams, ensure delivery of high-quality work that meets client needs, such as:Analyzes financial and claims information relating to benefits plans, annual renewals and client proposalsEvaluates the cost and design competitiveness of client benefit plansNegotiates service and premium rate agreements with insurance providersDelivers presentations to clients; conducts client meetingsReviews and provides advice related to benefit plan contracts and documentationManage multiple clients or provide senior support for large clientsBuild and maintain excellent relations with clients and internal colleaguesLead client meetings and present work to clients using effective and clear written and oral communicationIdentify problems and implement proactive and creative solutionsInterpret benefits legislation and standards and educate team members as appropriateManages the relationship between clients, administrators, insurance providers and other team membersCoach and guide team members including providing regular feedbackAct as a mentor to team members, supporting their growth and developmentLeads internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trendsParticipates in external training and industry conferences and seminarsManages special projects as requiredActs as a resource to the Employee Benefits practice areaBuild knowledge of and stay informed about other lines of business and introduce other services to clients as appropriateIdentify cross selling opportunities in other lines of business and introduce other services to clients as appropriateWho you are:5 to 10 years of experience in group benefits or the group insurance industryPost-secondary education and related courses in group benefits (CEBS) or actuarial sciencesMust have LLQP or willingness to obtain itProven capability at the Consultant levelExcellent mathematical and analytical skillsExcellent communication, project management, presentation and negotiation skillsProven leader with the ability to motivate and inspire team membersMentor and coach, who demonstrates patience and intuitionExtremely organized self-starter, flexible, highly independentGood working knowledge of personal computers and software, particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPointAbout HUB International:Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Hub International Limited is a leading full-service global insurance broker and financial services firm providing risk management, insurance, employee benefits, retirement and wealth management products and services.
