As an Entry-Level Network Engineer with CCNA/CCNP certification and Firewall expertise, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure and security solutions. You will work to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the network environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Configuration: Assist in configuring and maintaining network devices, including routers, switches, and access points, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Firewall Management: Configure and manage firewall devices to enforce security policies and protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and security systems for anomalies and assist in responding to alerts and incidents.
Troubleshooting: Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot network and security issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network and security documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and security policies.
Vendor Management: Work with technology vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues and implement network and security solutions as needed.
User Support: Provide technical support to end-users for network connectivity issues and security-related inquiries.
Security Awareness: Stay informed about cybersecurity threats and best practices to contribute to the organization's security posture.
Training and Development: Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge through training and certification programs, including pursuing advanced certifications like CCNP Security.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent education/experience.
CCNA certification required; CCNP certification preferred.
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet).
Familiarity with network management tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and security practices.
Preferred Skills (not mandatory but advantageous):
Experience with other security technologies such as VPN, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
Knowledge of cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Understanding of network design principles and best practices.
