These include, but are not limited to, hospitals, educational facilities, water treatment plants, office towers and fit/ups, research facilities, and heritage restorations.Role SummaryAs a senior estimator, you will be responsible for calculating major construction cost estimates, and you will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of a project. To be successful as a senior estimator, you should have excellent communication skills and great attention to detail. Outstanding senior estimators are able to negotiate with a range of professionals, make accurate time and cost estimates, and resolve any issues that arise.Core ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage all aspects of the estimating and Pre-Construction process, from planning, organizing, and scheduling project work, to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.Work with project management and business development to determine budgeting, general conditions and strategic position for project opportunities being considered.Research construction documents and analyze specifications.Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.Regularly report to Management and keep clients updated on the project status.Prepare contingency plans and effectively managing risks that might impact cost and time estimates.Conduct thorough analysis of tender drawings and prepare detailed/accurate quantity takeoffs.Participate in pre-construction process, including attending meetings, preparing and presenting budget, value engineering.Establish and maintain sub-contractor and client relationships.Other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMinimum 5 years of construction estimating experience in a general contracting or construction environment.Construction, Engineering or Architectural degree or diploma is considered an asset.Knowledge of construction management, lump sum and design build contractsExceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.Exceptional communication and organizational skillsAbility to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.Proficient in excel, Microsoft windows, and outlook.Basic knowledge of CADJob Type & Duration: Permanent, Full-timeWork Schedule: 40 hrs/week.Vacation: 3 weeksBenefits: Comprehensive benefits package, employee & family assistance program and professional development opportunitiesFor additional information on this job posting and Thomas Fuller Construction, visit our website at THE FULLER GROUP We invite qualified applicants to submit their cover letter and resume demonstrating their suitability for this position by email to: HR@fuller.ca Deadline for applications: May 14, 2023We thank all candidates for their interest; however, we will only contact those selected for an interview.
