Network Engineering is part of Platform Engineering at TomTom. In Network Engineering we focus on improving network performance and security, increasing resiliency, reducing the burden of network infrastructure activities on product teams, and delivering a well-architected network that offers consistent and efficient services. You will lead your team to achieve organizational objectives and directions by managing, coaching, and developing the team and individuals. You will be responsible for the execution, timely delivery, and quality of the work, scalability, time to customer, cost, and technical leadership. What you will do:Set and continuously work on technical direction and execution of team scope.  Be responsible for standardization, development, delivery, and operations. Lead for effective engineering, output quality, the technical roadmap creation. Work with internal customers to understand their needs and drive the adoption of best practices. Be an advocate for network operations, automation, and security best practices. Work on the "Secure & Compliant by design" approach. Build out the team to high engineering standards. Actively manage and coach a team of engineers, taking their personal development to heart. Have accountability for the performance and results of the network team. Develop departmental plans, including business, production, operational, and/or organizational priorities. Address complex networking problems by application of functional knowledge and existing methodologies. What you will need:Understanding of both traditional and cloud networking concepts and architectures. Understanding of SASE and ZTNA concepts. Experience working in a hybrid and multi-cloud environment. Experience working in a platform engineering environment, ability to lead and contribute to IaC and CI/CD-based automation and tooling. Knowledge of cybersecurity, with an emphasis on cloud and network security domains. Familiarity with service and product management, an understanding of service design, SLI/SLO, and KPIs. General skills and experienceExperience in managing teams of +12 people in production-grade platform-related teams (Cloud, Infrastructure, SRE) Experience in building and operating high-availability and critical systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills  MSc in computer engineering or equivalent work experience Nice to have:Networking and security related certifications (CCNP, JNCIP, CISSP, CCSP etc.) Cloud certifications for Azure or AWS Experience in supportingmicroservices and containerised workloads. Experience in supporting multiple cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, CaaS etc.) Experience in infrastructure-related languages such as Python, Golang and HCL. Experience in GitOpsand SRE practices. What we offerA competitive compensation package, of course. Time and resources to grow and develop, including a personal development budget and paid leave for learning days, as well as paid access to e-learning resources such as O'Reilly and LinkedIn Learning. Time to support life outside of work, with enhanced parental leave plus paid leave to care for loved ones and volunteer in local communities.  Work from home, the office, or even abroad - each team has the flexibility to choose how they work based on business needs. Improve your home office with a setup budget and get extra support with a monthly allowance. Enjoy options to work from your home country and abroad for a set number of days each year, to visit family and friends, or to simply explore the world we're mapping. Take the holidays you want with a competitive holiday plan, plus an extra day off to celebrate your birthday. Join annual events like our Hackathon and DevDays to bring your ideas to life with talented teammates from around the world. Become a part of our inclusive global culture and have the chance to collaborate with a diverse community - we have over 80 nationalities at TomTom! Find out more about our global benefits and enjoy additional local benefits tailored to your location. Meet your teamWe're the Service Platform Product Unit.
