Forklift Workshop Manager -GermistonOur client is looking for a forklift workshop manager that is not scared to get his hands dirty to run our workshop, he must have previous experience in running a forklift workshop and must be able to works closely with junior staff/Apprentices and guide them so that they can qualify with ease.Maximising service, sales and profitability by obtaining maximum productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction.Staff ManagementManage staff time and attendance, productivity and efficiencySupervise and coach staff to provide a customer focused environmentEnsure that staff adheres to dress code and PPE requirementsIdentify training and staff development needsConduct staff performance management reviews/appraisals as requiredConduct frequent staff meetings and feedback sessionsWorkshop Operations, Capacity Planning and Work in Progress (WIP)Conduct daily WIP planningMonitor and manage workshop productivity and efficiencyInteract daily with the Service Advisors and Parts department to ensure parts availability for scheduled servicesEnsure all vehicles are serviced in line with OE service schedules and OE requirementsEnsure that workshop operations run smooth and that workshop resources are optimally utilisedCustomer Service LevelsEnsure internal and external customers are kept up to date with their vehicle progress at all timesCustomer complaints to be resolved timeouslyWorkshop AdministrationEnsure 100% accurate Embrace data input e.g. hour readings, job start and end dates, correct fault codes and correct job typesEnsure all administration SOP's are adhered toEnsure accurate costing and closing of job cardEnsure that all required documents are attached to the job cards, manually as well as electronicallyEnsure that job cards are sent to Isando filing room via monthly handover scheduleEnsure quotations from preferred suppliers for outsource and outwork jobs are requested, received and processed on timeSign off job cards in line with the requirementsEnsure that all recovery billing is noted and invoiced to external customersReportsPull open job card report daily and investigate and ensure that only WIP job cards are open.Report to management on any WIPPull open purchase order report daily and investigate and ensure that only WIP orders are openSubmit all required reports to management at the agreed timesAsset ManagementManage and maintain all company assetsReport any losses or damage to company assets to managementAsset disposal must be requested in line with the SOP and authority schedulesRecoveries and Warranty ClaimsEnsure that correct recoveries and warranty processes are followedFinancials/BudgetManage the workshops in a cost effective manner and in line with workshop budgetsReport as requested on profit and loss statementQuality StandardsEnsure the workshop has the correct tools and equipment for the job on handConduct frequent spot checks to ensure the required service standards are metGeneralMaintain professional conductAssist in relevant operations/operational functions as requiredEnsure dress code is in accordance with company Standard Operating ProceduresMaintain housekeeping standards on a daily basisEnsure standards of Health and Safety are maintainedApprentice ProgramManage the apprentice programme for all workshops nationallyMinimum Requirements:Grade 123-5 years' Previous Workshop Management experienceSkills Required:Able to apply business principles and processes applicable to own work area/environment under general supervisionSuperior verbal and written communication skillsAbility to articulate - to relay information back and forthAble to motivate the team to achieve the best resultsPersonal Attributes:Ability to work under pressureSense of urgencyTeam playerReliableDetailed orientatedProactiveKnowledge:Knowledge of workshop environment is essentialKnowledge of booking processes to and from the workshopGood customer liaison knowledgeSupervisory skills and knowledgeRemuneration Package:R35 000 CTC Per Month Depending on Experience/Qualifications and work history.
