Visit the website to find out more their office at: https://edelman.amsterdam/To strengthen our corporate communications team and our ESG communications offering we are looking for an experienced and well-networked corporate communications professional, with at least 8 years of experience in the field of sustainability and impact communications, either in-house or agency-side. Our ideal candidate has deep understanding of the ESG landscape, reporting requirements and frameworks and has experience in translating company ESG policies into meaningful and galvanizing corporate positioning.The director corporate communications and sustainability leads the development and deployment of corporate sustainability strategies for Dutch and international clients. The media relations specialist helps clients strategize their ESG narrative across all stakeholder groups, to ensure transformation and avoid greenwashing. The role includes advising clients and teams on the right tone of voice and positioning around their material focus areas and objectives, rooted in proof points and company actions. This role is Amsterdam-based, but is closely connected with a team of EMEA sustainability specialists. The role requires close coordination with the whole spectrum of Edelman's capabilities, including creative, strategy, digital content and social and the client teams.Key Objectives and AccountabilitiesLeadership of a portfolio of Corporate Communication account teams, overseeing corporate reputation programmes, developing multi-market campaigns and thought leadership Identifying potential leads and areas of growth within existing clients as well as broader opportunities from a prospecting perspective Counselling clients confidently and maturely on communications and marketing, including PR, digital, social and content creation Overseeing client programmes and driving creative campaigns Writing PR proposals and other strategic communications materials to grow existing accounts • Leading new business pitches including developing RFI/RFP proposals and formal pitch meetings Taking responsibility for a portfolio of accounts and managing teams, developing junior team members, and line management responsibilities Directing media engagement strategy for clients and coaching teams to activate and deliver coverage, leading from the front • Full responsibility for overall financial management - forecasting, hours allocation for team members, project & plan budgeting, managing servicing levels. Supporting and developing Edelman's IP and marketing initiatives, helping to develop our position in the market and maximizing the role of the Edelman Trust Barometer for existing and potential clientsDrive sustainability-focused campaigns for multi-national organizations and act as a subject matter expert in this space Serve as the local market point of contact for the EMEA Sustainability & impact team Build the local sustainability expertiseAnticipates what's next; helps clients get ahead of issues and capitalize on new opportunities Demonstrates empathy for clients - understands clients' mindset, challenges (personal, professional, internal and external) and barriers to success and takes appropriate action Balances the needs of the client and the needs of the firm with grace and understanding Ensures high quality standards are met and work is based on industry best practices and strategic insights Delivers integrated thinking and ensures clients are benefitting from Edelman IP (such as Edelman Trust Barometer), insights, best practices and methodologies Shows keen interest and is conversational in Corporate/ B2B industry specialty areas and roles to multiple stakeholdersRole RequirementsA background in corporate PR/reputation management for Dutch and international businesses An understanding of how Corporate Reputation intersects with other communications disciplines, including Public Affairs, Financial and Consumer Experience in handling complex client issues and an ability to provide senior clients with clear, confident, and well-informed strategic counsel under pressure In-depth understanding of sustainability, its importance to businesses and how they operate At least 8 years of relevant experience in the field of sustainability or ESG communications at another agency or in-house.
