Responsibilities:Design, testing and commissioning of power system protection, control and automation schemesProtection settings calculation and configuration logics designMentoring and coaching of junior staffProvide technical support to BD and SalesTesting of protection, control and automation schemes in factory and siteProvide support for GE / IST, A-eberle protection, control and automation productsFollow up on technical questions from customersEvaluate customer inquiries and technical feasibility of projectsSupport development of sales and marketing materialContribute towards sales plan and target settingUnderstanding customer's requirement and advise on most appropriate technical solutionDesigns review Experience required: Function related experience: 7-10 Years' experience with substation protection and control including execution of projectsGood understanding of Engineering principlesTechnical knowledge of GE protection devicesProficiency in Engineering design software: AutoCAD, ZWCAD, MicrostationAbility to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop integrated solutionsStrong technical report writing skillsAbility to manage and interact with subcontractors and suppliersComputer literacy with good working knowledge of relevant OEM product software and power systems simulation packages: DigSilent Powerfactory, Matlab Simulink, PowerSimAbility to adapt and learn reasonably fastAbility to effectively communicate with team members and customersExcellent understanding and interpretation of project specifications, drawings, single line diagrams and data sheetsExcellent understanding of electrical network load flow and fault levels studyExcellent knowledge of protection settings discrimination studyBasic knowledge of tele control systems - SCADALeadership and management skills Qualifications: Matric CertificateBachelor of Engineering (Electrical) Diploma/DegreeRegistration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional EngineerPost graduate qualification in Electrical EngineeringBusiness Administration related courseProject Management related course
