3 rd Line Technical Support Engineer (JB4435) Newlands, Cape Town (Hybrid Role) Market Related Duration: Permanent Our client, a leading MSP with operations in the UK and South Africa, is looking for a skilled 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their team. As a 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to their clients across various regions including the UK, South Africa, Europe, Asia, and the US. This role involves troubleshooting, configuring, and implementing IT solutions, as well as engaging in project work and system maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience in third level support role and have great knowledge of cloud platforms such as M365, Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. Minimum Requirements: 3+ years of experience in a technical support role. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11) and Microsoft Server (2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016). Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (M365 Suite, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Strong understanding of network technologies (VLAN, VPN, Firewalls, Cyber Security, IP routing). Familiarity with wireless network technologies and SIP/IP Telephone Systems. Expertise in enterprise endpoint protection and backup technologies (e.g., Veeam, MSP360). Experience with virtualization technologies. Proficiency in infrastructure maintenance and alerting routines. Knowledge of policies, procedures, training, and compliance requirements. Remote support experience. Desirable Certifications / skills: Microsoft 365, HP, Fortigate, SonicWall, Dell Certifications. Mac OS experience. Familiarity with Autotask PSA and RMM. Microsoft SharePoint configuration. Project management experience or certifications. Presales experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver 1st to 3rd line support via email, phone, and remote assistance. Visit client sites to troubleshoot, configure, and implement IT solutions. Resolve hardware issues, liaising with third-party vendors as needed. Troubleshoot and fix Microsoft technologies (Cloud & On-Premise) and third-party applications. Collaborate with senior engineers on complex issues and project roll-outs. Continuously seek improvement opportunities in IT systems and service delivery. Conduct training sessions to maximize system utilization. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and network configurations. Deliver exceptional customer service and go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. Participate in technical presales design and project planning.
