Product Manager/Researcher Intern for Web-Based GIS Map Editor Platform We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Manager/Researcher Intern to join our team and contribute to the development and enhancement of our web-based GIS map editor platform. In this role, you will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in understanding user needs, conducting market research, and defining product strategies for a cutting-edge editing platform in the built environment and digital twins domains. This will be a remote position, and we are open to considering part-time interns, especially for those who can continue to work for us after the summer. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting market research and analysis to gain insights into user needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape related to Geospatial Mapping and Digital Twin platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, product development teams, and executives, to contribute to the product vision, roadmap, and feature requirements.
  • Support the gathering of user feedback and insights through surveys, interviews, and usability testing, and contribute to informed product decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to the definition and prioritization of product features and enhancements based on user feedback, market demands, and business goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and QA, to assist in the timely and successful delivery of product milestones.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of product documentation, including user stories, specifications, and release plans.
  • Participate in the agile product development process, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
  • Assist in monitoring product performance, usage metrics, and customer satisfaction, and help derive data-driven insights for informed product decisions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in GIS mapping, data management, and editing platforms, and share relevant findings with the team.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Design, GIS, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of GIS mapping, data editing, and web-based platforms. Experience with GIS software and tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest in product management, product research, or a related field, through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to gathering and interpreting user feedback and market data.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools, such as JIRA or Trello, is beneficial.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and contribute to the management of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the built environment and digital twins concepts is beneficial.
