About the Role: We are continually looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join our team. Our Hobart TAS office is currently seeking a Civil Draftsperson / Technician on a permanent, full-time basis. This role would suit a Civil Drafter/Designer/Architect/Urban Planner looking to expand on their current experience across a broad range of projects. Key responsibilities and activities include: ● Design of projects in AutoCAD Civil 3D software ● Preparation of design drawings in AutoCAD ● Provide assistance to Engineers ● Undertake accurate, timely and quality presentation of civil engineering documentation including preparation of Bill of Quantities, Detailed Drawing and Design Models ● Work in partnership with a team environment to deliver a coordinated product ● Adherence to our Quality Management System ● Coordinate and incorporate data into drawings, schematics, and maps. ● Review and ensure conformance of sketches and drawings with design criteria. ● Prepare high-quality plans and technical drawings using relevant software. ● Correlate, interpret, and modify data from topographical surveys and other sources. ● Convert drawings and plans for client issue. ● Produce designs and detailed work using CADD based on specifications and calculations. ● Develop and utilize design skills with specialized software for 3D modelling. ● Convert drawings and plans for client issue. ● Maintain databases and electronic records systems, ensuring consistency with CADD Standards and Guidelines. ● Complete material quantity (yes) take-offs for construction scheduling and costing. Knowledge, Skill and Experience requirements include: ● Mining Infrastructure design experience (dams, earthworks, stormwater, roads, landfills, cover systems etc.) ● Civil Site Design experience ● Have 3-5 years’ experience as a Civil Draftsperson/ Technician ● GIS software experience (QGIS) ● Muk3D experience also highly desirable ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on the production of quality outputs ● Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Development, Environmental Management, or related field.
