Partnering with major corporations worldwide, the laboratories ensure the safety, authenticity, and accuracy of products, covering everything from food and water to crucial medications.Job Overview:The organisation is in search of an accomplished individual to step into the pivotal role of Business Unit Manager for its Food Testing business in the Netherlands. If you have experience in Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry; strong commercial acumen and a background in Chemistry, Food, or something related then you could be a perfect fit for this role.Your Team:As the Business Unit Manager, you will become an integral part of the Food Testing leadership team based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Regional Director of Food & Feed Testing, oversee more than 50 full-time employees, and have direct responsibility for the profit and loss (P&L). Responsibilities:Develop a strategic plan for business expansion and strengthening the companies market position in the Netherlands.Lead a major Food Testing business unit, overseeing 1 lab in Rotterdam and a team of over 50+.Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and enhanced profitability.Lead sales and marketing efforts, establishing strong, reliable customer partnerships.Maintain positive client relationships, ensuring high customer satisfaction; participate in key meetings with the Commercial team.Promote cross-functional teamwork to optimize business opportunities.Initiate and manage change, setting clear action plans and responsibilities.Improve technical and scientific operations through the development and application of new techniques and processes.Requirements:Qualifications: Over 3 years in leadership, including 1 with P&L management, and experience in growing and leading large teams (25+ FTEs).Education: Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, or a related field.Language Skills: Must be proficient in both Dutch and English.Location: Based in the Netherlands, with flexibility to travel to Rotterdam as required but no less than 3 days a week in the beginning.What's Offered:The organisation offers an attractive compensation package and extra-legal benefits (company car, laptop, pension, and health insurance).
