Summary:The Quality and HSE Director is the key person that guides our strategy and implementation of our business quality management processes to make sure that our customers get the highest quality products and services. He/She also oversees our processes such that all Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and regulations are upheld so all of our stakeholders' well being is ensured.Responsibilities:Work with engineering, Quality Manager, QE, and supply chain personnel on supplier and individual part qualificationsDevelop and upkeep the ASL (Approved Supplier List ) and have annual quality/capacity audits with key suppliersCoordinate with supply chain the proper containment, return/rework, and corrective actions for quarantine partsEstablish the documented quality management system based upon the ISO 9001-2015 criteriaManage the Client (Non-Conforming Report) system and hold people accountable for corrective actions and closing NCRsOversee incoming material and outgoing finished goods for quality control/quality assuranceBe a customer advocate and work with them to address any quality concerns that they have in regards to the products that we ship themWork with internal Project management and external customers to coordinate activities in PD, PE, supply chain, manufacturing and operations such that they are performed under the proper guidelines as highlighted in the QMSDrive the ISO-9001-2015 certificationPerform internal audits on business processes at least annually per the ISO 9001 specificationsHold an annual management meeting with the Leadership team per ISO 9001 specificationsSchedule and host the external ISO 9001 audits once certification is ready or recertification is neededOversee and validate the training of the organization in quality management system processes and update them on any changesDevelop and track monthly quality and HSE metrics/KPIs for the organizationPerform regular cadenced HSE auditsEstablish and provide initial onboarding QHSE training for new employeesProvide PPE (personal protective equipment) recommendations for manufacturing floor personnel and work with supply chain to source itCoach, mentor, and develop quality managers, quality engineers and HSE personnelPreferred Experience/Qualifications:8 - 10+ years experience as a quality manager supporting a manufacturing/service operationMinimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience Leading HSE policies, procedures and enforcement of them in a manufacturing environmentExposure to Canadian Health, Safety , and Environmental regulationsPrevious experience working within an ISO-9001-2015 certified manufacturing shopExperience defining and documenting quality management proceduresQMS (Quality Management System) audit experienceShop floor manufacturing operations experienceExperience in implementing Lean manufacturing principles (and/or six sigma) in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience using an ERP system and/or an IT system for qualityStrong knowledge of quality assurance policies, processes and procedures.Experience in project management and customer interface from a quality and HSE aspectProven ability to lead, motivate and build teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Capable of reading and interpreting technical documents.Excellent organizational skills including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize, and handle multiple and changing projectsEducation:BS in quality systems, engineering, operations management or equivalentLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma problem-solving trainingMBA is preferredCertified quality inspector, engineer or manager preferred
