Our client is searching for a Senior Human Resources Officer to join their team in JohannesburgSummary Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources functions, providing strategic directions, and ensuring the effective implementation of HR Policies and programs to support the organization's objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals and objectives.Partner with senior leadership to identify HR priorities and initiatives that drive organizational successTalent Acquisition and ManagementLead the recruitment process for key positions, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting top talentDevelop and implement effective onboarding programs to facilitate the integration of new employees into the organizationOversee performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and career development planningEmployee Relations and Engagement: Serve as a trusted adviser to management and employees on HR-related issues, providing guidance and support to resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environmentDevelop and implement Employee engagement initiatives, programs, and events to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and employee satisfactionHR compliance and Risk: Ensure compliance with all applicable labour Laws, regulations, and company policies, providing guidance and support to ensure adherenceIdentify and mitigate HR-related risks and liabilities, conducting investigations and Implementing corrective actions as necessaryCompensation and Benefits: Oversee the design of compensation and benefits Programs, ensuring competitiveness, fairness, and alignment with organizational objectivesConduct regular benchmarking and analysis to assess the effectiveness and competitiveness of compensation and benefits offeringHR operations and systems: Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiencyUtilize HRIS and other technology platforms to automate HR processes and maintain accurate employee recordsTrack and manage business visa applications and renewals for employees or business visitors and ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations.Qualifications and skillsBachelor's degree in Human resources, Business Administration, or related field: Master's degree (added advantage)Years of progressive HR experience, with 3 years in a leadership role.Extensive knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and regulationsLeadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate othersExcellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levelsStrategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving results and delivering impactful HR initiativesWork Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties, may be required to regularly stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and seeOccasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds).Personal protective equipment may be required when performing work in an outdoor or plant environment, including a hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.The company promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random drug testing. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a one (1) year contract position, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
