Role
Let's start off with some context here. Carbyon was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Dutch research institute TNO. While Carbyon started as a dream, initiated by Hans de Neve (Founder and CEO), Carbyon participated in the High Tech XL program. Basically a program that converted Carbyon's dream into a business plan.Fast forward to today, Carbyon is about to close Series A funding. And that's where you come into play, to step up Carbyon's game. Our current CFO is with us on interim base. However, we're looking for a CFO who'll join us more permanently. Being part of the board, you'll play a key role in the further professionalization of Carbyon. To ultimately reach our mission.
Responsibilities
As CFO your key responsibilities include;
• Leading role in attracting Series B financing (between €30 - €60 million), in close collaboration with the CEO.
• Establishing efficient processes, including implementing an ERP system and other BI/AI tools to achieve automation.
• Ensuring milestone adherence in relation to the budget and timely signaling of deviations.
• Advising and supporting dealmakers in commercial transactions with smart analyses and information.
• Actively involved in technological developments and providing strategic insights, such as optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX).
• Wisely managing cash flow and the company's runway, identifying cost savings, and seizing growth opportunities.
• Supporting the development of the business strategy by providing valuable insights into the business model and potential implications.Why join us?

• A track record of involvement in exits and experience in attracting financing.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate strategic insight into concrete actions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively work with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
• Strong financial foundation in terms of accounting & control
• Is living within commuting distance from Eindhoven or willing to move there, because that's where our magic happens!
