Our client is a Luxury Women’s RTW brand with a global following. Due to growth, they are looking to grow their Fabric team with the opportunity of a Fabric Buyer. Working closely with the internal teams and the fabric mills, this role will be responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring the on-time delivery of all fabric orders from development. The role will be responsible to drive the organisation and logistics as well as budget management through the process. I am interested in speaking to candidates who are working at Co-ordinator level up to Manager level. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the purchasing of all fabric orders for sampling and prototypes
  • Work closely with design to ensure their creative ideas are realised through the fabrics
  • Managing the fabric critical path through development for the delivery all fabrics for sampling through approvals to shipment, including the testing.
  • Management of the base fabric and lab dips for approval, working with the mills, ensuring the key critical path dates are achieved.
  • Ability to work through any potential issues on the fabrics with the mills to avoid any delays to deliveries and to ensure the best outcome is achieved and negotiate any required discounts.
  • Be able to use your fabric and testing knowledge to follow through on any fabric issues
  • Manage the shipments and logistics of the bulk fabrics to the factories in time for production.
  • Budget management in line with the department goals, ensuring the creative vision is achieved within a commercial frame
· The successful candidate will:
  • Proven experience within a similar role in a Women’s Luxury RTW brand
  • Excellent fabric knowledge, including testing, fabric characteristics, dying and finishing processes
  • Be a self-starter and motivated alongside excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of communication with the factories and in-house team with the ability to build successful relationships with the mills and suppliers
  • A quick learner and able to work within a dynamic team, adapting to the daily needs of the team
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the mills and vendors, and experience of working with mills globally
  • Excellent organisational skills and a strong team member who can drive this role with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong all-round IT skills, including working with Zedonk
Please note, this role requires you to be on site at the studio full time. Salary is dependent on experience. This role is not involved in sourcing and is more focussed on the procurement, budgets and logistical aspect of the fabric critical path. It would suit someone who has experience working with fabric orders at either development or production. ***Only successful candidates will be contacted***
