The role requires a strong focus on relationship building and influencing in order to leverage team work and achieveagreed deadlines effectively and timeously.Qualification & Experience Required:- CA(SA) or other relevant accounting qualification- 3 years post-graduate experience (Banking experience would be beneficial)Competencies Required:- Analysis and attention to detail- Influencing and impact (including negotiation)- Time and self management- Excellence/quality orientation- Commercial and financial acumen- Consulting and advising- Building relationships- Judgement and decision making- A self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team- Customer service orientation- Strong problem-solving and investigation skills- Verbal and written communication (including listening)Critical Performance Areas- The successful candidate will join the Corporate Accounting team, being responsible for the central review.Responsibilities will include:- Review and analyse the Financial Accounting Schedules (FAS) and Financial BA returns- Request, collate and analyse commentary on all material variances and items from the review above- Obtain supporting schedules and recons where required, and review for reasonableness- Present the financial packs and commentary for review- Attend and respond to statutory, regulatory and audit queries including supplying commentary required or facilitate resolution of outstanding issues- Review and analyse the budget submissions- Preparation and review of consolidation and management reporting journals- Respond to ad hoc queries and provide data and commentary for consolidated presentations and reports- Make recommendations to the business to improve on processes and efficiencies where necessary- Obtain a strong working knowledge of all business units, including the finance process- Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes
