Certified Welding Engineer

Our client, a prestigious turnkey engineering and steel fabrication company, seeks to employ a qualified and certified Welding Engineer, with a background in the Engineering sector to join their team in Cape Town.Please note that this is not a senior role, however it does require a BSc or BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with IIW IWE Diploma/Certification. KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATIONYou will have a BSc or BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with a IIW IWE diploma/certification and 2-3 years experience as a Welding Engineer.You will have experience in reviewing weld/inspection specifications/codes and standards, as well as providing project and technical support during projects and the tender process.You will take responsibility for welding development, management of PQR and maintaining weld registers, as well as investigate and evaluate new developments in the welding field for application and problem solving of processes.You will have experience in coordinating NDT and QA/QC project preparations, as well as ensuring staff compliance to establish standards, restrictions and procedures, test welds for non-conformance of international code requirements and staff certifications.You will have a background in supporting production on projects, identify root cause and implementing corrective actions, as well as provide feedback to stakeholders and clientsYou must have a valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record Please note that should you not be currently resident in the region and area advertised but still wish to apply, the cost of travel for interviews and relocation will be for your expense. Due to the exceptionally high volume of applications, we are unable to correspond with each applicant personally, therefore only relevant and suitable candidates will be contacted.
