Job Description:A Media company is looking to hire an Online & Social Media Manager (Web Producer) to join their team.  They will be responsible to produce great content that is both highly shareable and cutting-edge, for online and mobile consumption.  Applicants to include a profile and links to their work.  Minimum requirements: Grade 12 / MatricRelevant Degree / Tertiary qualification in: Journalism or Communications (or equivalent)1+ years experience within a similar/relevant professional working environmentValid driver's licence Skills / Experience / Knowledge requirements: Strong language skills, and proven proofreading, sub-editing, headline writing skillsA "nose for news"Competent in using electronic editing and digital publishing tools, as well as analytics toolsUse SEO strategies and analytics tools to optimise content and identify new opportunitiesGood understanding of social media best practiceAble to work under pressure and meet strict deadlinesSound editorial judgmentSolid understanding of online video consumption and audience, as well as an understanding of local and international web video trends and best practices.Be self-motivated with an ability to work within a team;Must have strong video editing and shooting abilities Responsibilities:The primary responsibility will be the optimisation of stories on the company websiteAggregating and writing original content for the website which may also then be repurposed for the print productUpdating social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) including live tweetingKeeping the website updated with new, accurate, relevant and engaging contentEnsuring that traffic and audience targets are consistently metAssisting in finding new ways to grow site audience and engagementProducing multimedia including video and podcast that are in line with our editorial policy and digital first strategy which has a strong focus on multimedia storytelling.
