The Solar and Storage - VP, Project Development (West) - Remote will lead all Soloar & Storage project development strategy, and team across WECC markets - this includes Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, and California. Client Details IPP with a strong national presence across multiple ISO's, RTOs, and Regions. Focused on Utility-Scale Solar & Storage. Description The Solar and Storage - VP, Project Development (West) - Remote will:
- Drive the continued forward movement of priority projects in a well-structured, detail oriented, and de-risking manner to bring them to fruition on-time and with the targeted returns.
- Manage a team of developers and support staff while providing leadership and mentorship in project development and management, analysis, risk assessment, negotiation, and business development.
- Manage and collaborate with internal and external resources in structuring, negotiating, and closing project transactions including real estate agreements, interconnection agreements, tax agreements, PPA agreements, permitting approvals etc.
- Develop, own, and execute the project development strategy and tactics for the West Region.
- Work closely with the Origination, EPC, Legal, Grid Integration, Policy, Environmental, Investment Analytics, and Project Finance teams on the above.
- Direct portfolio-wide activities with a focus on optimizing the use of resources, budget management, and project profitability.
- Drive strategy for project green-fielding and acquisition in the market, and lead developer partner agreements and relationships.
- Analyze and interpret regulations, power sector trends, the competitive landscape, and other data by market to inform the development strategy.
- At least 10 years of years of experience in energy project development, with significant utility-scale renewable experience in the West.
- 4 year bachelor's degree required. MBA or other relevant master's degree valued.
- Demonstrated success in managing teams and maturing large complex projects.
- Ability to synthesize information and communicate clearly and succinctly in written and verbal form.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, attention to detail and accountability. Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
