IT Software Development Specialist Sr BCForward is looking for IT Software Development Specialist Sr (Remote) Position Title: IT Software Development Specialist Sr (1316355) Location: Fully Remote Anticipated Start Date: 20- May - 2025 Expected Duration: 12+ Months. Job Type: Contract and Remote Pay Range: $51/hr on W2. Primary Purpose:
- The primary purpose of this role is to develop, maintain, test, and debug software in a Windows client/server environment. The IT Software Development Specialist Sr will utilize software development languages/environments to define system scope and objectives, prepare detailed specifications, and design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs.
- Become familiar with all aspects of the application, including reports, parameters, claims management, intake services, and interfaces.
- Analyze user needs and assist in designing specifications to meet those needs.
- Develop and modify software to meet specified requirements, including those of insurance carriers and regulatory groups.
- Test and debug assigned projects, as well as assist in testing projects for other members of the programming staff.
- Prepare documentation for new and existing software.
- Investigate and resolve call escalations from the support staff.
- Assist in the professional growth of programmers.
- Follow departmental standards and guidelines for design and development.
- Deliver and maintain the highest quality of customer service to clients.
- Keep abreast of software development language revisions and technology advances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization's quality program(s).
- Systems Administration experience is a plus.
- Competency in software development with a background in systems administration.
- Attention to detail and ability to work through issues logically.
- Server provisioning experience (e.g., configuring for application hosting).
- IIS administration skills.
- System configuration expertise.
- Troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, including the ability to analyze queries and improve performance of complex stored procedures.
- Some infrastructure knowledge.
- Knowledge of continuous integration configuration and administration, including TFS, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and GIT.
- Understanding of code management and system integration.
- General knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, C#, and the lifecycle of a web request and response.
- Systems Administration Experience would be a plus.
- Looking for a competent developer with a systems administration background.
- Attention to detail and ability to work through issues logically without supervision, with awareness to escalate issues when appropriate.
- This position requires a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
