We are looking for a Supply Chain Advisor - Imports to join our Central Imports team. Within this role you'll be responsible for the management of all freight invoices including the processing of all associated invoices and costs with our freight partners. You'll also provide support to the wider team with administrative functions including financial reporting and certain elements of our supply chain processes. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with and providing support to the Customs team in areas relating to operational import activities, continuously improving workflow, processes and procedures.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with freight partners and suppliers to ensure all import documentation and freight invoices are provided in a timely fashion.
  • You'll inform commercial finance on cost discrepancies on expected payments vs. actual to allow correct forecasting of business margins.
  • You'll prepare weekly / monthly reports for the finance team enabling the correct posting of costs to the appropriate cost centres.
  • Perform audits on the internal and external processes on import routines to ensure they meet legal standards and support with training for internal stakeholders to educate the importance of this activity.
This position follows a hybrid model with a 4.5 day working week. Our teams work from our vibrant head office in Bradford for three days and remotely for a day and a half, Monday to Friday. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with basic but sound finance knowledge and understanding to expand into areas of International supply chain, with a view to growing their knowledge in areas relating to the international movement of goods globally. For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
  • To have a good understanding of finance processes & procedures is desirable
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle ORMS, EBS or Rubicon
  • A good understanding of international purchasing of products and importing procedures
  • The ability to manage your own workload to a consistent high standard following procedures
  • A vibrant person who is an excellent communicator, and comfortable presenting to senior members of the wider internal teams & departments
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to prioritise own work and deadlines
  • A good understanding of food or retail management, supply chain and store operation
