Information Governance Senior Manager Role Overview: As the Information Governance Senior Manager, you will assume a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the information governance framework. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and implementing strategic plans and objectives to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and promote best practices. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in safeguarding data and maintaining the integrity of information systems across the organisation. Role Scope:
- Full-Time Hours: Embrace a full-time role with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours.
- Fixed Term Position: Join our team on a six-month fixed term basis.
- Work Schedule: Primarily remote, with the occasional need to attend training or update sessions in either London or Leeds, typically once or twice a month.
- Office Location : Office locations are in London at Waterloo (SE1 8UG) and in Leeds at 7 Wellington Place, Whitehall Road. LS1 4AP.

- Developing Processes: Lead the development and implementation of information governance policies, procedures, and frameworks ensuring they are comprehensive, effective, and up to date.
- Management and Support: Supervise the team, including assessing individual performance, capability, and skill gaps. Recognise and acknowledge exceptional performance. Develop and review performance improvement plans where required . Assist and support colleagues with urgent activities such as personal data breach responses, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation of risks.
- Risk Identification and Management: Lead investigations into information governance breaches, incidents, and complaints, ensuring appropriate remedial actions are taken.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments to promote awareness of information governance requirements.
- Educational Achievement: Educated to degree level or equivalent experience within a professional working environment.
- Accredited Qualification: Hold an accredited IG qualification.
- Legal Framework: You will have comprehensive knowledge of the following laws and legal frameworks:
- Data Protection Law
- Common Law Duty of Confidentiality
- NHS Legal Framework
- Records Management
- FOIA & EIR
- Information Governance : Significant experience of working in a senior information governance/privacy/data protection role.
- Solution Identification: You will have extensive experience in innovatively addressing challenges, including the identification and formulation of strategies to achieve effective solutions.
- Internal Reporting: Experienced in producing reports and key performance information to evaluate the organisation’s compliance with IG related requirements .
- Leadership: You will have previously spearheaded specific IG activities within an organisation including responsibility for continuous improvement of the activity and acting as the activity’s SME
- Stakeholder Management: Significant experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with a range of internal colleagues to address IG related matters.
