Technical Artist (Mobile Game)

Finfin Play Play is launching Fashion League, a new and exciting fashion game experience where individuals from all backgrounds can connect, express themselves creatively, and find inspiration. We aim to provide a space for players to confidently showcase their uniqueness and get a sense of belonging with Fashion League - shaped by our community. If you have technical expertise, artistic skills and passion for fashion and gaming, this role is for you! We are seeking a talented Technical Artist who will join our mission to develop the first-of-its-kind fashion mobile game. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the visual elements of the game meet both aesthetic and technical requirements and create captivating and immersive experiences. Responsibilities: 

• Art Pipeline and Tools Development: work your magic alongside the art team to develop efficient and streamlined workflows for creating and implementing art assets. Develop tools, scripts, and plugins that automate tasks and boost productivity.
• Asset Integration and Optimization: master the art of seamlessly integrating art assets into the game. Ensure that they are correctly imported, optimised for performance, and displayed correctly in the game. 
• Technical Problem-Solving: armed with knowledge of rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering, troubleshoot and solve technical issues.
• Visual Effects and Shader Development: create mesmerising visual effects (VFX), develop and implement shaders, particle systems, dynamic lighting, and other visual elements that enhance the overall look and feel of the game. 
• Performance Optimisation: collaborate with programmers to optimise game performance without compromising visual enchantment. Analyse and optimise art-related aspects to ensure the game runs smoothly on various platforms and devices.
• Artistic Guidelines and Standards: uphold the sacred artistic guidelines and standards. Work closely with the art team to establish and enforce quality benchmarks, visual consistency and optimisation requirements.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: unite artists, animators, designers, and programmers with your exceptional communication skills, and find solutions that balance artistic vision with technical feasibility.
• Research and Innovation: stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies. Provide insights into innovative art workflows or visual improvements that can enhance the artistry of the fashion gaming world.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. 
• Proven 4+ years of work experience in a similar role, specifically in mobile game development.
• Proficiency in industry-standard art software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, 3D Studio Max, ZBrush, Blender or similar tools. 
• A solid understanding of art integration with the Unity Game engine is required.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, shader languages and automation tools is beneficial.
• Exceptional technical, artistic, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Strong collaboration and English communication skills. 
• Passion for all things gaming.
• Proactive, dynamic and always on top of industry trends and competitive products.
