In addition, Civeo Australia also operates approximately 9,000 rooms in client-owned properties in remote regions of Western Australia.  Position Overview This role is responsible for providing advice on environmental matters, sustainability performance monitoring and reporting and to support the overall implementation and continuous improvement of Civeo’s Environmental Management System (EMS) across all APAC Civeo villages, in particular the requirements of ISO 14001 and further embedding a culture of sustainability. This includes the development, implementation and ongoing performance monitoring of Civeo’s EMS including procedures, training, communication, inspections, audits, monitoring, and compliance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and professional day-to-day advice, support and coaching to managers and employees regarding environmental and sustainability matters including:
  • Sustainability reporting
  • New equipment/products/vendors
  • Tender submissions
  • Legal and other requirements
  • Input on business cases & innovation projects.
  • In conjunction with the HSQE Team and People & Culture Team, ensure the organisation has a sound understanding of relevant legal and other requirements and environmental risk management concepts. 
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with key stakeholders including the HSQE Team, Operations leadership team and Supply Chain on any emerging trends, issues, challenges or opportunities. 
  • Undertake environmental and sustainability monitoring and reporting in key impact areas of:
  • Energy use and GHG Emissions
  • Waste and recycling
  • Water use and water quality
  • Legislative compliance requirements
  • Spills and other environmental incidents.
  • Assist with, perform and co-ordinate environmental risk assessments.
  • Review and develop environmental procedures, training content, inspection and audit templates.
  • Assist in developing controls to resolve environmental issues in the workplace.
  • In conjunction with HSQE, Operations and Supply Chain teams, assist with the planning, implementation and monitoring of environmental initiatives and innovations. 
  • Complete environmental reporting required for monthly/quarterly/annual HSQE Reports. 
  • Participate in the Environmental Steering Committee. 
  • Assist is developing key environmental and sustainability messages to be delivered to the workforce at appropriate times and collate content to share as news articles for internal publications. 
Professional Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Sustainability or related discipline 
  • Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Qualification in Auditing and or equivalent (desirable)
  • Open Class C License
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in environmental or sustainability roles.
  • Working knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Knowledge of environmental risks and controls.
  • Experience with environmental and sustainability monitoring and reporting including Energy Use and GHG Emissions, Waste and Water Use. 
  • Understanding of GHG estimation methodology. 
  • Experience with influencing teams to accomplish goals.
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 (desirable).
  • Experience preparing and delivering training programs.
  • Experience with preparing business cases for environmental initiatives (desirable). 
  • Professional experience in a similar work environment desirable.
