Position Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer leads all the engineering activities of utility-scale Battery Storage projects in Chile. The candidate will organize and manage the work and act as the key technical liaison with client ’ s engineer and EPC partners during the design, construction and commissioning phases of the projects. Workingcloselywiththecommercialandproductengineeringteamandsuppliers,thecandidatewillplan the engineering activities and work through day-to-day issues.Job Responsibilities:
· Providetechnicalleadershipandauthoritywhilerepresentingtheengineeringteamatbothinternal and external forums. · ManageengineeringconsultantsortheEPCperforminggridinterconnectionstudiesasrequiredby utilities and ISOs. · Supportcommercialteamwithtechnicalrequirementsdocumentreviewand drafting. · Recruitemployeesandoverseetheir development. · Developplansandproceduresfordesignreview,qualityinspectionandcommissioning tasks. · Supporttheprocurementteamincontractingactivitiesbyreviewingschedulesandcost estimates. · Ensureengineeringprocessesandtoolsareestablishedand standardized. · Ensurethatproperdocumentationisestablishedforengineering records. · Developandmaintainrelationshipswithengineeringfirmsinactive markets. · Build,develop,andgrowanybusinessrelationshipsvitaltothebusinessunit's success. · Holdthedepartmentaccountableforallworkandissuesrelatingtoprofessionalism .Qualificationsand Experience:
- FluentandSpanishand English
- Minimumtenyeardirecttechnicalexperiencefromanyofthefollowingindustries:Substationor Solar EPC, Engineering firm, Energy Storage integrator or similar.
- Workingknowledgeoftheprocessesandthetechnicalrequirementsprescribedunderthenational electricity rules,
- Experienceinworkingwithutilityrequirementsfornetworkplanningand/oraugmentationand generator connections.
- Strongprojectmanagementandleadership skills
- Deepknowledgeinpowersysteminstallation,construction,designphaseengineering,local jurisdiction requirement, project scheduling, system layout design, SLD etc …
- Thoroughunderstandingandproficiencyoflocaljurisdictionrequirements,FireCode,Safety Certifications, Electrical Safety Regulations,etc.
Personal Qualifications:
- Anexcellenttimemanager,abletobalancemultipleprojectsandprioritizeawidevarietyofissues, initiatives and objectives concurrently.
- Goodtechnicalwritingskillsandbeabletodraftworkinginstructions, etc …
- Exceptionalabilitytosimplifyandreportcomplicatedscenariostothemanagementteam,with outstanding judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Abilitytoestablishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipsinternallyandexternallywithstaff, management, clients,suppliers, community partners and external stakeholders.
- Demonstratedsoundjudgmentandtheabilitytobedecisiveincrisis situations.
- Abilitytoworkflexiblehours(evenings)andtraveltoprojectsitesas required.
- Willingandabletotravel,domesticallyandinternationally,upto50%ofthe time.
