Eningeered Fixed Systems Project Engineer Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd. is looking to recruit to the Sales department an EFS Project Engineer to contribute to delivering company growth goals. - Create electrical and mechanical design of bespoke systems using multiples of Crowcon control systems and non-standard enclosures.
- Compile quotations for EFS systems according to agreed requirements and process while communicating with all stakeholders and meeting deadlines.
- Support sales team in pre-sale customer consultations to define system requirements for EFS projects.
- Assist with the development of information solutions such as remote ‘HMI’ displays or PLC/DCS communication packages.
- Create system configurations to match customer Cause & Effect requirements.
- Produce detailed Bills of Materials for systems and enter onto the Crowcon ERP system.
- Coordinate with the Production team to ensure systems are assembled according to the EFS schedule and fully tested prior to despatch. Assist with system testing in production where appropriate.
- Create and deliver bespoke system Operation and Maintenance Manuals and customer documentation packages.
- Respond to stakeholder and customer emails and telephone calls in a timely manager.
- Participate in team meetings and support stakeholders and other departments as required.
- Customer site attendance for system support where required by the business.
- Carry-out any reasonable requests made by your manager.
- Participate in training and accreditation courses required for working on customer sites (confined space entry, working at heights etc) and other e-learning required by the company.
- Degree qualification (or minimum of HNC) in engineering, electronics or equivalent.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and/or instrumentation.
- Proficient in using AutoCad and MS Office applications.
- Work experience in either a technical sales environment or technical project management.
- You are an engineer with strong commercial acumen and good cost estimation skills.
- You can interface with customers and internal stakeholders confidently and directly.
- You can accurately define and confirm with the customer their needs and ultimately agree the specification.
- You can apply sound, methodical project management skills and prioritise your own workload well.
- You can manage any customer change requests and track status / progress of the system and build delivery.
- You can bring different departments together to efficiently execute agreed customer needs.
- Desirable: PLC programming experience.
- Desirable: knowledge of gas detection systems including on-site experience.
