Role Description As Training Manager | Drones, you can expect to cover the following activities and responsibilities: Training Needs Analysis
- Conduct a thorough needs analysis to identify the specific training requirements for drone operators, maintenance, and support staff. This analysis should consider the latest regulations, technology updates, and the unique challenges of providing global drone services.
- Create a comprehensive training curriculum that covers all aspects of operating and maintaining drones across a range of operating environments around the world. This will include generic ground school modules on flight safety, navigation, etc. as well as technical and operational training, including theory, simulations, mission planning, and operational execution.
- Ensure that the training program incorporates the latest regulations and compliance standards relevant to drone operations in different countries and regions. This includes country specific aviation authorisation regulations in worldwide and equivalent regulations in other countries.
- Implement drone simulator training to provide trainees with a safe and controlled environment to practice their skills before operating real drones. Hands-on training with actual drones is crucial to build practical experience.
- Emphasise safety protocols and procedures, including emergency response plans, to ensure that all team members understand and can follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and mishaps.
- Stay up to date with the latest drone technology and software that can enhance training.
- Depending on the service areas, provide training on the unique geographical and environmental challenges that drone operators may encounter, such as extreme weather conditions, restricted airspace, or challenging terrains.
- Develop customer service and communication skills for drone operators, especially in the case of drone delivery services where interaction with customers may be required.
- Establish a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging drone operators and other flight operations staff to stay updated with changes to training, updates in technology, operational lessons learnt, etc.
- Implement regular assessments and evaluations strategy to ensure that trainees are meeting the required standards. Provide certifications upon successful completion of training and maintain the Training Management System to accurately reflect staff training records.
- Maintain detailed records of training programs and performance evaluations. Generate regular reports to monitor the progress of trainees and identify areas that may need further attention.
- Collaborate with industry organizations, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to stay informed about the latest developments in drone technology and regulations.
- Develop a Learning Management System to deliver theory training on generic and platform specific topics.
