Lead Accountant - Pharmaceuticals

There is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading pharmaceutical company in London as a Lead Accountant. This is a mostly remote position, requiring office attendance only once per fortnight. The Company The client is an international pharmaceutical company with a wide suite of products. With offices across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, they have a well-established global presence. Having had a fantastic finish to Q1, they are looking to expand the London team as they kickstart more projects. Lead Accountant Responsibilities

• Supervise transactional accounting operations for EMEA branches.
• Guarantee punctual and precise financial statements for European entities, aligning with US and local GAAP standards.
• Oversee processes, controls, and systems to ensure compliance and optimize efficiency.
• Administer Purchase-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash workflows.
• Propose ERP enhancements tailored to European needs.
• Spearhead the evaluation of statutory accounts for European branches.
• Coordinate with external audit firms for streamlined annual audits.
• Direct the daily operations of external accounting and tax service providers.

Lead Accountant Requirements

• 5 - 8 years' experience in accounting
• Proven experience with US GAAP & IFRS
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting; Accounting qualification a plus
• Experience in pharmaceutical / biotech / medical device industry preferred
• Experience in supervising audits and GL management
