Role Summary DXC Assure Broking and DXC Assure Commercial & Specialty are market leading SaaS-based insurance products serving London Market and global insurance brokers and carriers. The Product Owner role is responsible for a single primary business domain (Risk, Claim, Finance/IBA) within Assure Broking and Assure Commercial & Specialty, managing its product backlog, defining requirements, and leading development. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:- Fulfil the Product Owner role in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) development team, owning, refining, prioritizing and contributing to the backlog for the solution ART.
- Own and deliver the release backlog. Collaborate with product managers and customers to define short, medium and long-term roadmap objectives and content.
- Utilise extensive commercial insurance experience within the London and global markets to define requirements and be a customer advocate in the development team.
- Maintain and manage the backlog of features and user stories for development to ensure that it is aligned to the roadmap and business objectives; and that there is always sufficient prioritised and sufficiently detailed work for the development teams to pick up and work upon.
- Participate in Agile events to ensure the development teams have clear acceptance criteria for the features being developed, articulated as user stories, and provide feedback and direction to end of sprint product demonstrations.
- Act as a subject matter expert to the development team to resolve queries, identify opportunities and make the most of the software platform already developed.
- Work closely with the product managers and sales team to support engagement with prospects and existing customers.
- Extensive commercial insurance experience in the London Market and some exposure to one or more of the following markets: North America, Asia, Australia / New Zealand.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate requirements to a multi-disciplinary team spread across the UK and Asia.
- Credible and knowledgeable in front of insurance customers and prospects, able to clearly articulate the capability of the product and align it to customer requirements while using these interactions to drive future development.
- Experience of the full software development lifecycle in a business lead role.
- A good understanding of London Market initiatives as well as exposure to process and regulatory requirements in other global markets.
- Able to demonstrate good knowledge of multiple, market leading insurance software products, including detailed working knowledge of at least one of these, to a level where best of breed features and functions can be identified and articulated to the team.
- Familiarity with database structures and how they are typically used within insurance products.
- Experience in working to strict deadlines, both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required - connecting and collaborating with colleagues in different time zones.
- Able to travel as needed to fulfil these responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of one or more DXC software products for insurance brokers.
- Experience of working in an Agile development environment, ideally SAFe.
- Knowledge and experience of analysis techniques, ideally of using a formal analysis methodology in the building of solutions.
- Strong SQL skills, in particular procedural SQL including ability to construct SQL queries, views, triggers and stored procedures.
- Experience of demonstrating software products.
- Remote with occasional travel.
- Travel to clients is required.
