Accountant - One Year Term

If you do not have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience, this is not the job for you. Reporting to the Manager you will be responsible for month end close, settlement, report preparation, management accounting, and reporting activities. We work in a fast-paced environment that requires superb organizational skills and the ability to move quickly from task to task and project to project. Strict deadlines are what drives us. This is a hybrid position, combining work at our Calgary office with working from home. Responsibilities

• Preparation and booking of monthly operating expense accruals; processing intercompany settlement payment requests
• Performing monthly account reconciliations, investigating any intercompany discrepancies, and following up with various departments to resolve any issues
• Preparation and processing of monthly vendor statements and other payment requests
• Preparation and processing of monthly journal entries for revenue recognition
• Preparation and booking of trucking invoices and accruals
• Monthly account reconciliations
• Collaborating with various departments to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal and external requirements
• Ad hoc analytical assignments and reporting as required

Qualifications

• University degree with a concentration in accounting preferred
• 5 years’ relevant experience
• Successful completion of online skills test
• CPA designation or nearly completed CPA designation is an asset
• Adaptable to change and motivated by new opportunities
• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills—must possess advanced Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
• Positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment
• In possession of a sense of urgency and accountability with the ability to respond to tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Must work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate initiative by undertaking tasks independently
• AX Dynamics, Oracle Fusion and RightAngle Experience is an asset
• Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks #Plains
