Financial Analyst

Work Type: Permanent - Full Time-– In OfficeLocation: Vancouver, BCResponsible to: Director of FinanceSalary: 65-75kThe Role:The Financial Analyst is a strategic role responsible for planning and managing JD Canada’s financial performance. You will use your experience to build upon the foundation of the Financial Planning & Analysis department, executing on the FP&A strategic directives. The ideal candidate brings a successful track record of sales forecasting, retail planning, and weekly/monthly sales reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will also grow the department under themselves, developing the future state of the department and eventually leading the group. The Responsibilities:Assisting with financial planning, budgeting and re-forecasting processesAnalyzing financial statements and reports and both developing and contributing to advanced financial models where requiredPreparing projections for brick and mortar and ecomm locations, managing projects and assisting with monthly close processesAnalyze costs and set department budgets, ensure teams are within budget and provide feedback regarding variances. Conduct cost analyses, benchmarking, and risk assessmentsBuilding seasonal sales phasing using historical sales data and go-forward retailer sales plansPerforming research and analysis and create reports as required by leadershipPresenting FP&A reports to the executive team and specific management as requiredSupport the automation and enhancement of financial & reporting systems by developing department dashboards in new systemReview, analyze and provide commentary on weekly, period end and quarter end financial resultsThe Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related fieldExperience working in the retail industryExperience presenting complex financial information to an executive audienceExecutive stakeholder management experience3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis and modellingDeep familiarity with Netsuite software is crucial, familiarity with Jesta ERP is an assetPossesses good working knowledge of financial strategies and modelsAdvanced excel skills with the ability to create and maintain complex reportsStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
