We have a strong 25-year history of supporting people and their families to make meaningful changes that benefit their health and wellbeing, and helping create the kind of connected community we all want to be part of. We have a great opportunity for a compassionate person to join our K’aute Pasifika Aiga (family) in our Social Services team for 6 months (fixed term). This position provides gradual and supported transition for young people from care to have a good start in life. You will take an approach that empowers our youth to focus on skills and knowledge to navigate life independently. Experience working with youth as well as providing assessments and care planning is needed for this role. To be considered for this role, you will be a patient person with a passion for supporting the community as well as the following:
- Experience working with vulnerable youth
- Relevant qualification in social work and/or youth work
- Excellent communications skills
- Computer Literacy
- Understanding disability, mental health impact of trauma, substance abuse
- Behaviour management/conflict resolutions skills
- Key relationships with other providers
- Full clean driver’s licence
- Must be willing to undergo a Police Vetting and a Ministry of Justice check and obtain clear results
- Knowledge, understanding and commitment to working with Pacific Island people and their cultures.
