The Opportunity We are seeking a vibrant, dynamic and an out of the box performer to join our Rocktree team as a; Commercial Manager & Analyst to be based in Brazil. Your contributions to our joint success
- Assist the Company in achieving business growth through building and maintaining client relationships by finding new project opportunities to expand the client base and commodity portfolio.
- Run supply and demand analysis to identify total addressable market & logistics assessment.
- Focus on Brazilian mining, agro and forestry markets as well as Amazon River logistics system.
- To gather, analyse and summarize relevant company, industry and economic information using a broad spectrum of appropriate sources .
- Expand the commodity base by identifying potential customers/trades which can augment existing business models and/or develop new ones.
- Develop a commercial astute and responsive business capability which delivers increased results for the business.
- Drive strategies which promote value added services in conjunction with the local operations business models.
- Diploma or equivalent working experience in maritime, nautical science, business-related or other relevant fields
- Degree in Maritime, Finance, Business or Marketing desirable but not mandatory
- Approximately 5 years of working experience in marine, dry bulk supply chain, ship management, or logistics industries
- Proven experience in and/or deep understanding of maritime technical operations or operations
- Experience in bulk shipping and chartering is highly desired
- Ability to collect data and build models / presentations for internal discussions.
- Ability to build presentations and effectively pitch them to Clients
- Ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate with colleagues across multiple functions and locations
- Ability to make effective decisions using sound judgement
- Strong time management skills and ability to ‘hone in’ on the critical priorities
- Strong cultural awareness and adaptability
- Ability to analyse and understand profitability of prospects, and review both financial and operational performance
- Budget setting and management experience
- Ability to travel frequently (60%)
- Intermediate to advanced MS office (PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills) and other analytical software and tools (CRM, PowerBI, etc.)
