WSP (68.000 employees all over the world) has a new opportunity for an  Environmental Specialist to join our Sustainability Services team on a full-time contract basis based in  Ankara (Turkiye) . To learn more about us please visit  The successful candidate will join our multi-discipline and cross-international team supporting in the development of projects in different sectors. Main Roles and Responsibilities:
  • You will be responsible for environmental components of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) with particular attention to environmental studies and impact management (e.g., baseline surveys planning and execution).
  • You will be responsible for environmental components of Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and post-finance monitoring of projects, including identifying risks and impacts, reviewing compliance with project’s commitments and applicable international requirements, and reporting.
  • You will be responsible for supporting Environmental, Health and Safety Due Diligence (EHS DD), Phase I and II ESA projects.
  • You will attend working and organizational meetings, client meetings, support project managers.
  • You will coordinate subcontractors.
  • You will support the development of technical reports.
Requirements (Skills, Qualifications, and Experience) for the Position:
  • Degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or similar,
  • 5 years of professional experience on related tasks listed above,
  • Good understanding of national and international EHS and social standards (IFC/EBRD/Equator Principles and similar),
  • Good understanding of Sustainability Standards,
  • Experience in undertaking due diligence to international finance institutions’ standards,
  • Excellent English (both written and spoken),
  • Strong technical interpretation, writing and reporting skills,
  • Good organizational ability and time management skills, punctuality in project delivery and operational matters,
  • Good communication skills with a wide variety of audiences,
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook),
  • Willingness and availability to travel and undertake field work,
  • Experience and ability to work on several projects simultaneously,
  • Good adoption skills to new and challenging environments.
  • Driving License (Class B) and experience in driving,
  • Familiarity with environmental assessment tools and procedures,
  • Knowledge of environmental, health and safety, and social management systems, and practical experience in projects.
  • Consultancy experience would be advantageous.
