Mō te tūranga - About the role Southland Hospital is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our skilled and inclusive team. Have the best of both worlds working in the community and in-reaching to patients within the hospital. Work in a multi disciplinary team which includes Allied Health Assistants enabling you to delegate tasks so facilitating efficient patient care.
  • Provide education and advice to patients within the Southland Hospital
  • Upskill with training opportunities across the district with senior mentors
  • Focus on physiotherapy assessment and intervention in rehabilitation with orthopaedic conditions
  • Collaborate alongside other Allied Health team members to plan and provide patient-centred rehabilitation to our community in their own homes
  • Partner with our acute colleagues and have opportunities to work across the continuum of care by in-reaching into the hospital
  • Participate in regular in-services, senior staff mentoring, an interprofessional learning programme and support network and peer-review
  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and hold a current APC
  • Enthusiastic team-player who is keen grow their knowledge and skills
  • Understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge in a community setting
