An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time Computing Lecturer at our EIT | Te Pūkenga business division located in Tairāwhiti. This role is to facilitate and enhance the learning experience of students, develop and deliver courses in Undergraduate programmes, provide academic support and fulfil research duties and be a mentor to the next generation of learners. The appointing salary for this role will be between $78,000 and $83,000, dependent on skills and experience. The Computing Lecturer is based at our EIT | Te Pūkenga Tairāwhiti campus reporting to the Programme Leader, Computing and will be responsible for:
- Continuously assessing and adapting the course content, instructional materials, and methods to suit evolving contexts, which include blended and flexible delivery techniques, and the pivotal role of educational technologies in instruction.
- Effectively guiding the learning process by offering a diverse range of experiences that foster student engagement and self-directed learning.
- Overseeing assessment and evaluation procedures in accordance with academic guidelines, including conducting both internal and external assessment moderation.
- Conducting thorough evaluations of students and courses, evaluating student performance, and providing relevant feedback.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification, or the equivalent body of knowledge gained through experience.
- Knowledge of Computing curriculum and strong technical skills in, but not limited to: Programming, Architecture, Operating Systems, Electronics & Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Mechatronics, Automation & Embedded Systems, and Maths in IT.
- Experience in teaching over a range of delivery modes, including face-to-face and online.
- Well-developed oral, written, interpersonal and leadership skills.
