The BC Vegetable Marketing Commission (BCVMC) is seeking a conscientious self-starter and highly organized Senior Policy and Market Analyst to join their in-office, Surrey-based team on a permanent, full-time basis. This might be the job for you if: ✓ You like to prepare comprehensive and strategic policy documents including analyzing and interpreting current policies to support policy improvement and development and to provide advisement and recommendations✓ You excel in developing and maintaining market information databases including tracking and forecasting market conditions✓ You can develop materials for industry consultations and present data in engaging and accessible ways, even to non-specialist audiences✓ You are experienced in collaborative project management including developing project plans, defining deliverables, and implementing action plans.✓ You effectively balance competing priorities to meet strict deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail✓ You have superior analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills✓ People say you are diplomatic: presenting as flexible, tactful and relationally-oriented✓ You strive to support others and celebrate their successes the same as your own✓ You have excellent written and verbal communication skills✓ You can work both autonomously and as a member of a team About the position The Senior Policy and Market Analyst is a key role that provides strategic analysis, policy development, and market insights to support the Commission's objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for the analysis of evolving economic conditions, market trends, and their impact on the BCVMC’s regulatory framework. This information will be used to proactively make informed policy decisions and amendments to the General Orders. Additionally, the Senior Policy and Market Analyst will manage policy projects, coordinate stakeholder reporting, and maintain a comprehensive market information database to support effective decision-making and day-to-day operations. The position demands a considerable degree of diplomacy, a high level of analytical skills, and a continuous improvement, self-starter and problem-solving attitude. Working in a small but demanding environment, issues of a confidential and complex nature are routinely encountered. This position is located at the BCVMC office with reasonable flexibility for limited remote work. Occasional travel may be required. This position includes an attractive compensation and extended health benefits package with a pay range of $90,000-$110,000 per year.
