Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island. Mō to tūranga - About the role   As a Recreation Officer, you will plan and facilitate individual recreation plans for residents, as well as the overall recreation programme at Kōwhainui Home. This involves running daily activities with staff and volunteers, supporting our residents to pursue their interests, and planning the social calendar. You will encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections with their community. An ideal opportunity to give back to your community, spending time with our residents who have spent their lifetime doing exactly that! Hours are 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday at Kōwhainui Home in Whanganui.  Passionate about the wellbeing of older people, you are enthusiastic but patient; well-organised with great interpersonal skills and sense of humour. You share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect.  We are looking for:

• A genuine interest in supporting the recreational activities in our Home.
• You may hold a relevant qualification; however this is not essential because we can help you gain one!
• Experience in a customer-facing role, the ability to listen to people and work with them to support their needs.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver licence.
