This is a great opportunity for a Chartered Accountant with a strong interest in IT, who is looking to expand their existing skills and gain valuable experience implementing process improvement through IT. About Spark Spark is NZ's largest telecommunications and digital services company.We provide mobile, broadband, and digital services to millions of New Zealanders and thousands of NZ businesses. About the Role and Team This role is within the Revenue, Apps, and Data team, based in Wellington.This team is part of Spark's wider Group Finance team.Our work is a mix of accounting and IT.We are:

  • Accountants for telecommunications revenue, supporting the data needs of downstream Finance Partner.
  • A process improvement hub, who build IT apps and reporting solutions, to support the wider Group Finance team.
As a Finance Partner you will be responsible for
  • owning and improving revenue accounting processes performed by the team (mostly automated)
  • collaborating with team members, to develop and improve our automation and digitisation apps
  • advising, supporting, and training users of these apps, to drive productivity improvements within the wider Finance function
  • building reporting solutions, using data from Spark’s data warehouses, for internal stakeholders and to meet external reporting requirements.
You don't need to already be an expert programmer or web-developer (most of the IT skills needed can be learned in the role) but you need to have a strong enough interest in IT that you have already pursued it with academic study, personal development, and work experience.
